The first image Shawn Fraley saw when he became conscious was his wife, Tanya, standing above him talking to a 911 operator. He groggily heard her tell an emergency responder her husband already had been shocked once. He was aware of a blue gel on his chest.
“I’m going, ‘What in the world?’” he said. “I couldn’t believe what happened. It was like I was coming out of a bad dream.”
